Spiritual hygiene and Support Practices Before/During the Training
The practice of seidhr accesses and uses the spiritual and psychic abilities of the practitioner. As a result, maintaining good psychic health is vital during the training.
In the weeks leading up to the beginning of training, please perform a full purification protocol according to your practice. There are some good timings for this: Friday, April 17th, is the New Moon. Monday, April 20th, is Summer Day in Norwegian folk tradition. This day was traditionally considered to be threshold of the summer season. It is an auspicious day for clearing out old, stuck energy.
Select one to three supports for the development of greater perception, psychic ability, and spiritual connection to use in preparation for your seidhr training. These can be specific to your cultural practice or pulled from Western magickal tradition. If you plan to imbibe any substances (mugwort tea, for example), please research that choice carefully to avoid complications or poor interactions with your health.
Beginning Oracular Seidr runs from 9 AM – 6 PM (with an hour break for lunch) on Friday, April 24th, and Saturday, April 25th, and 1 PM – 6 PM on Sunday, April 26th. If you would like to bring food for lunch rather than leave and purchase your lunch in town, the UUCF has a full commercial kitchen including refrigerator, freezer, oven, microwave, etc.
