The Arrow’s Flight – A Return to Focus

I’ve written before about the way patterns emerge in my life – the repetition of themes, needs, and issues people are going through. For better or worse, it seems like a lot of us ride similar waves at the same time.

It was a hard winter, a very challenging early spring, and then the month of April came and shook the snow globe with a vengeance.  I’m putting the pieces back together now, but after so much change, it can be tough to figure out what goes where. Which priorities go at the top of the stack?  Where should I focus my energy?  What’s the best path forward in light of all that has happened?

I was already contemplating those questions on my own.  Then, this week, a Patreon supporter expressed similar thoughts when getting their tarot reading lined up.  Rather than do a general reading, I felt inspired to create something new. I’m calling this spread The Arrow’s Flight, and it’s designed to help you get settled and reoriented after a shuffle.  This spread should work with any sortilege system – tarot, runes, oracle cards, kahina stones, etc. If you try it, please let me know how it works for you. I’m always interested to see the way a spread works once I release it into the wild.

To use The Arrow’s Flight spread, first connect with your divinatory system and visualize your path becoming clear.  One of my favorite visualizations is of mist clearing out of the way, revealing my path forward.  However, use the symbolism or images that speak most to you. Then, draw eight cards and place them as shown in this graphic.

1 – Your current situation. Where you are right now, at the time of this reading.

2 – Your immediate challenge – the thing getting in the way the most right now.

3, 4, and 5 – Three areas to prioritize/things to focus on as you move forward.  By placing these three concepts at the top of the stack of concerns, you’ll make more headway.

6 and 7 – Two actions to take right now to get into better alignment.

8 – The outcome if you prioritize 3, 4, and 5, and do 6 and 7. Where all of this leads.  For me, it was a next step, but one that had more clarity around it.

So, give it a go.  Let me know how it comes out for you.  And, if you’d prefer someone else do the reading for you, drop me a line.  I offer distance readings and would be happy to help.
